SUGGESTED ITINERARY FOR VISITING THE 1000 ISLANDS

Day Trip:

• Enjoy a beautiful tour of the 1000 Islands by boat aboard  one of our many tour boat companies. Tours are available in one hour and three hour durations. Some tours include a stop at majestic Boldt Castle, or beautiful Singer Castle. Tours run daily in season, several times throughout the day.
• Enjoy an afternoon of gaming at the Thousand Islands Charity Casino, where the name of the game is fun! Groups are always welcome, dining is available in Oscar's Restaurant inside the casino. Players can also join the Winner's Circle, a free program that rewards players with points that can be redeemed for cash!
• Take a side trip to either beautiful Kingston, where you can enjoy sightseeing at historic Fort Henry, or to Hill Island, where you can take a trip up the Skydeck for a spectacular panoramic view of the 1000 Islands. Whichever destination you choose, there is lots to do and you will want to come back year after year.
• Sit back and relax as you watch one of the many live theatre productions  shown nightly, with some selected matinees, at the Thousand Islands Playhouse. There are eight main productions that run from May 10th to November 4th. The Playhouse is also home to the Monday Night Concert Series, which features acclaimed recording artists with international reputations.
• While you are in the area, why not spend a relaxing afternoon at the Arthur Child Heritage Museum, where you will experience a blend of 1000 Islands social, culteral and natural history, seasonal programs and shopping. Speaking of shopping, why not take a tour to the many shops that downtown Gananoque has to offer? Gananoque stores boast more than you would expect, and you'll be sure to find something you'll treasure for a lifetime!

Overnight Trips:

• Enjoy a day or more in our fabulous 1000 Islands region with a stay at one of our many hotels and resorts. Group tours are always welcome, group and package rates are available.
• While staying in the area, treat yourself to a day trip to beautiful Ottawa, Canada's capital. Visit the Parliament buildings and Rideau Hall, even enjoy lunch at the famous Byward Market.
• You might also enjoy a trip to Smiths Falls where you can visit the Hershey Factory and take a self-guided tour of the facility and treat yourself to some of the yummy goodies in the Hershey store. On the way home from Smiths Falls you can enjoy a scenic tour through the town of Athens where you can gaze at the murals of the town, painted right on the historic buildings!
• Another great attraction is Kingston's historic Fort Henry. You could take all day exploring the Fort at your own pace, or take a tour through Kingston, the "Limestone City" and find out for yourself why the city was dubbed with such a unique nickname.
• Of course, you can't forget to finish off your vacation with a tour of the 1000 Islands aboard one of our many boat tour companies, with a stop at either Boldt Castle or Singer Castle, (or both!) that you will never forget. You may also wish to relax with one of our many productions at the Thousand Islands Playhouse, or try your luck at the Thousand Islands Charity Casino! There is always 1000 things to do in the 1000 Islands!
